These are six of my favourite main course recipes from my new eBook Gentleman’s Portion: The Cookbook. You can use the search button to find all these recipes here on the blog, but I’d much rather you bought the eBook for under 10 bucks!

Readers have asked if a print version is available and the regretful answer is that there is not. The exigencies of publishing ensure that a full-colour print book, with a colour illustration for each recipe as in the eBook, would be prohibitively expensive.

GOOD NEWS: I have created a modified PDF version for those who would like to print their own copy, with four pages of selected colour montages at the front (the above selection is one of those pages) and the balance of the 135 pages in black and white only. If you email me your receipt for the eBook as proof of purchase, I will send you free of charge this PDF version for you to print at home. Or take the file to your local print shop, to create at a reasonable price. Here is the link to my email address. Please put COOKBOOK REQUEST in the subject line. If this fails, leave me a note in the comment section. I will try to answer you within 48 hours.

This is not a truly vegetarian book, so there are recipes with fowl, bacon, fish, dairy and eggs, but I have been trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle and apart from occasional yearnings for a steak, I have stopped writing about dishes involving beef or lamb, and apart from bacon, pork. All the recipes fit the “comfort food” category, as befits the season.
